My interest in gambling started in the early 1990s through sports betting, statistics, and probability. I was always more interested in understanding how odds and pricing worked than simply placing bets.

That curiosity eventually led me deeper into the gambling industry itself. Over the years, I built models to better understand fair probabilities, market prices, and the mathematics behind different gambling products.

One of my articles about value betting and probability was later cited in a Bachelor's Thesis at Aalto University in 2012, which was a memorable milestone for something that had originally begun as a personal hobby (PDF).

Although much of my work has focused on betting markets, particularly football and ice hockey, I have always been equally interested in casino games. RTP, volatility, jackpots, payout systems, and player expectations are all part of the same bigger picture.

I still play casino games from time to time, but with a realistic understanding of what they are: entertainment built around a long-term house edge.
